BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (Aug. 9, 2026) – Team Miami won their second title of the 2026 FIBA 3x3 World Tour on home soil at the 2026 FIBA 3x3 Birmingham Challenger. The win also secured Miami’s spot in the 2026 FIBA 3x3 World Tour Debrecen at the end of August.
Miami came into the tournament as the No. 1 seed and showed they earned that ranking by going a perfect 5-0 this weekend in Birmingham, Alabama. Team Miami consisted of James Parrott, who earned MVP honors, Riley Battin, Henry Caruso and Jackson Trapp.
Team Miami’s matchup in the final was against the Cinderella team of the tournament, No. 11 Élancourt, who had upset No. 2 Raudondvaris (LTU) 21-19 in the semifinals. The contest was also a rematch of Miami’s first game of pool play, where they defeated Élancourt 19-16.
Both teams could feel a championship within reach, as they came out firing. After trading baskets, a Caruso 2-pointer gave Miami some breathing room to go up 12-9. From there, two big defensive stops by Trapp and then Parrott allowed for Miami’s offense to secure the title.
Caruso and Battin had back-to-back 2-pointers to put Miami on game point, going up 20-14. The hero of the game was none other than Parrott, who hammered an alley-oop slam to claim the championship for Miami.
It was a balanced attack for Miami as Parrott, Battin and Caruso each finished with seven points.
Parrott had electric performances all weekend as he averaged 8.2 points per game to lead all scorers. Caruso averaged 5.0 points per game and Battin was dominant inside, adding 5.4 points. In his first appearance with Team Miami, Trapp played a key role defensively to help Miami claim the title while also chipping in with 2.3 points per game. Miami’s rebounding was key throughout the tournament, as they averaged 15.4 per game.
