COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (Sept. 2, 2026) – USA Basketball will host a Women in the Game conference in Los Angeles on Sunday, Oct. 4. The event will take place at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom Financial from 12:30-5:45 p.m. PT.
Registration is $65 and available online. Each attendee will receive lunch, USA Basketball gear and an opportunity to network with other participants and presenters.
The following speakers and panelists have been confirmed, with additional presenters to be announced.
- Ashley Armstrong, deputy athletic director/SWA, Loyola Marymount University
- Dawn Ellerbe, senior director, stewardship, UCLA athletics & Olympian
- Tina Fernandes, head track & field/cross country coach, California State University, Los Angeles
- Aarika Hughes, women's basketball head coach, Loyola Marymount University
- Dr. Denise Kwok, deputy athletic director, internal operations/SWA, USC
Following the event, all conference attendees will have the opportunity to apply to the USA Basketball Women in the Game Mentorship Program, which connects selected mentees to each other and to experienced professionals for networking and learning.
Launched in 2017, USA Basketball Women in the Game is an opportunity to educate and inspire more women to pursue a career in sports. While speakers and panelists will focus on supporting current female professionals, college women and high school girls, anyone is welcome to attend. Guest presenters from a variety of sports fields will share their personal career journeys, discuss the essential characteristics to succeed in their roles, and provide practical strategies to get started and sustain success in the highly competitive sports industry.
The USA Basketball Foundation will award scholarships to women interested in working in sports to attend the conference. Scholarship information for the Los Angeles event is available here.
