COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – USA Basketball announced today 33 athletes who will participate in the first USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team minicamp. The minicamp will take place in Dallas from March 31-April 2 in conjunction with the 2023 NCAA Women’s Final Four.
Minicamp participants will represent the high school graduating classes of 2024, 2025 and 2026. Camp invitations were extended to athletes who were born January 1, 2006, or later. Players and coaches were selected by the USA Basketball Women’s Developmental National Team Committee. In addition to on-court drills and scrimmages, the Junior National Team members will participate in a series of educational presentations and attend the Final Four semifinals on Friday night.
“We are excited to have such a talented group competing at the first USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team minicamp,” said Briana Weiss, USA Basketball’s Women’s National Team director. “Congratulations to the young women invited, and we look forward to seeing many first-time and returning players compete and learn.”
The class of 2024 attendees include Kendall Dudley, Joyce Edwards, Jordan Lee, Madisen McDaniel, Sarah Strong, Blanca Thomas and Kennedy Umeh.
The class of 2025 will be represented by Darriana "Dee" Alexander, Sienna Betts, Zhen Craft, Aaliyah Crump, Jasmine “Jazzy” Davidson, ZaKiyah Johnson, Grace Knox, Keziah Lofton, Leah Macy and Keeley Parks.
For the class of 2026, Jacy Abii, Kelsi Andrews, GiGi Battle, Addison “Addy” Bjorn, Amari Byles, Devin Cosgriff, Brihanna Crittendon, Rieyan DeSouze, Oliviyah Edwards, Maddyn Greenway, Jayla Jackson, Lola Lampley, Jenica Lewis, Jada Lynch, Jerzy Robinson and Olivia Vukosa will be in attendance.
The group features nine players with past USA Basketball experience. In 2022, Strong helped the U.S. to gold at the FIBA 3x3 U18 Women’s World Cup while Umeh aided the U.S. in capturing gold at the FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup. Furthermore, Dudley was a member of the 2021 USA U16 National Team that won gold at the FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
Minicamp coaches include Dan Rolfes, Bobbi Morgan, Trenia Tillis-Hoard and Audrey Taylor.
Dallas will also play host to USA Basketball’s Women in the Game Conference on March 30 which aims to inspire females to pursue a career in the sports industry. Additionally, the first-ever Women’s Junior National Team minicamp comes one week prior to the Nike Hoop Summit, which will take place April 8 in Portland and feature the first women’s game as part of its Saturday double-header.
