USA Defeat Czechia 105-64; Improve to 3-0 at FIBA Women’s World Cup

The USA (3-0) handily defeated Czechia (0-3) 105-64 to close Group D on Monday night at Berlin Arena. The USA are now 3-0 all-time against Czechia at the World Cup.

The quarterfinals are set for Thursday, Sept. 10 with the U.S. to play the winner of Tuesday’s game between Hungary (B2) and Japan (A3).

POSTGAME NOTES

Smokin’ Hot: The Americans rebounded from a subpar offensive performance Monday night vs. Italy with a 105-point output tonight. The tone was set early with the U.S. scoring 29 points (15, CZE) in the first quarter for their highest-scoring quarter of the tournament (prev. 27, 1Q, vs. CHN) while shooting 50% (11-22) from the field and connecting on 4 3-pointers to quadruple their output from the entire Italy game. Turn Up the Heat: The U.S. shooting defense continues to be the best in the tournament, holding the opposition to 32.1% (60-187 FG) from the floor and 15.6% (10-64 3FG) from 3-point.
