The USA will play at Dominican Republic on July 3 and at Mexico on July 6
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (June 22, 2026) – USA Basketball today announced the 12-man roster and coaching staff for the July 2026 USA Men’s World Cup Qualifying Team, which will play at Dominican Republic and Mexico on July 3 and July 6, respectively.
The 12 athletes have professional experience in the NBA, NBA G League and internationally with six players having prior USA Basketball experience.
The July 2026 USA Men’s World Cup Qualifying Team includes Pedro Bradshaw, Jacob Gilyard, Kevon Harris, Dewan Hernandez, Jay Huff, Mike James, Elijah Pemberton, Orlando Robinson, Matt Ryan, Terry Taylor, Jarrod Uthoff and Gabe York.
Taylor boasts the most recent USA Basketball experience, having competed in 2027 FIBA Men’s World Cup Qualifying Window 2 in February when the USA went 1-1 to Dominican Republic and Mexico, respectively, in Oceanside, California. Bradshaw made his USA debut in Window 1 last November with two wins over Nicaragua.
Hernandez (Window 4), Huff (Window 6), Pemberton (Windows 5 and 6) and Ryan (Window 2) return to USA Basketball after previously representing the red, white and blue in various Qualifying windows prior to the 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup. Pemberton also owns a bronze medal from the 2022 FIBA Men’s AmeriCup.
Gilyard, Harris, James, Robinson, Uthoff and York will compete with USA Basketball for the first time.
Former NBA head coach Stephen Silas, who led the USA to 2025 AmeriCup bronze in August and coached the USA in 2027 FIBA World Cup Qualifying Windows 1 and 2, will once again helm the team. Silas also coached 2025 AmeriCup Qualifying Windows 2 and 3. He will be assisted by Patrick Mutombo, who was on staff in August, November and February, and Marlon Garnett and Clay Moser, who assisted in Windows 1 and 2.
The USA will hold training camp June 26-July 1 in Miami before departing to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, for an 8 p.m. ET tilt on July 1. The squad will then travel to Zacatecas, Mexico, with the game scheduled to tip off at 10 p.m. ET.

As previously announced, the USA will compete in six World Cup Qualifying windows from November 2025 to March 2027. For more information, click here. In total, 80 national teams will compete for one of 32 berths to the 2027 FIBA Men’s World Cup in Doha, Qatar. In FIBA Americas, 16 teams will play across six windows with seven advancing to the World Cup.
Through two windows, the USA are 3-1 sit atop Group A, along with Dominican Republic (3-1) with seven points. Nations will be regrouped for Windows 4-6, with Window 4 – in which the U.S. will play one road game and one home game – scheduled for the end of August.
Under the current qualifying format, which dates back to the 2019 FIBA Men’s World Cup, the USA have compiled a 22-6 record and has finished atop their respective group in both 2019 and 2023.
The U.S. are winners of two of the last four FIBA World Cups (2010, 2014).
