COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (June 9, 2026) – USA Basketball announced 36 athletes expected to participate in the 2026 USA Basketball Men’s U17 National Team training camp at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Training camp begins June 13 with the 12-member team expected to be announced before the team departs for the 2026 FIBA U17 Men’s World Cup, scheduled for June 27-July 5 in Istanbul.
Training camp participants will represent the high school graduating classes of 2027, 2028 and 2029. Selections are made by the USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team Committee.
From the class of 2027 are Nasir Anderson, Beckham Black, Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje, NaVorro Bowman Jr., Derek Daniels, Cayden Daughtry, Isaiah Hill, Chase Lumpkin, Asa Montgomery, Jordan Page and CJ Rosser.
The class of 2028 includes Dylan Betts, Logan Chwastyk, Mason Collins, Erick Dampier Jr., Marceles Duncan, Owen Eteuati-Edwards, Colton Hiller, Josh Lowery, Bentley Lusakueno, Parker McDaniel, Kameron Mercer, Boss Mhoon, Jordan Mize, Donavin Okoth, Brady Pettigrew, Josiah Rose, Shalen Sheppard, Michai White, AJ Williams, Evan Willis and Xavier Young.
Representing the class of 2029 are Will Conroy Jr., JJ Crawford, RJ Evans and Draydne McDaniel.
Each athlete has previous USA Basketball experience from national team competition, training camps or minicamps. Eleven members of the 2025 USA Men’s U16 National Team, which won the gold medal at the 2025 FIBA U16 Men’s AmeriCup, are expected at training camp, including Anderson, Black, Collins, Dampier Jr., Hiller, Lusakueno, Mercer, Page, Rosser, Sheppard and Williams.
Training camp will be led by 2026 USA Men’s U17 National Team head coach Scott Fitch (Fairport HS, NY) and assistant coaches Frank Bennett (Chaminade College Prep, MO) and Nick LoGalbo (Lane Technical College Prep, IL).
Court coaches during the opening days of training camp will be Andy Harrington (Owyhee HS, ID), Joe Mantegna (Blair Academy, NJ), David Rebibo (Harvard-Westlake School, CA), and Larry Thompson (Wheeler HS, GA), all of whom have prior USA Basketball coaching experience.
The USA have won the gold medal at each iteration of the FIBA U17 Men’s World Cup, dating back to 2010. In addition to seven consecutive gold medals, the U.S. has not dropped a game in tournament history (51-0 all-time record).
The eighth edition of the FIBA Men’s U17 World Cup features 16 teams from around the world. All 16 teams will advance to the single-elimination tournament after group play.
The U.S. will take on France in their opening game on June 27 at 1:30 p.m. ET. The Americans will look to improve to 4-0 against the French at U17 competition. On June 28, the USA will face Japan, tipping off at 10:45 a.m. ET. This will be the red, white and blue’s second matchup with Japan in the tournament’s history, with the U.S. winning the previous bout 122-38 in 2014. Group A play closes with Italy at 8 a.m. ET on June 30, with the USA winning the lone previous contest between the two countries 129-88 in 2024.
