Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (Oct. 26, 2025) – Team Miami fell to Skyliners (GER), 19-17, on a buzzer beater in the Abu Dhabi Masters final on the FIBA 3x3 World Tour. The loss came after four straight wins leading up to the final and leads to a consecutive second-place finish for Miami after last week’s result in Macau.
As the clock ticked down, Miami took the lead at 14-13 on a tough shot from Henry Caruso at the end of the shot clock. Skyliners then took a 17-16 lead with roughly 30 seconds remaining, immediately followed by a thunderous dunk from Mitch Hahn to tie the game back up. After regaining possession, Hahn missed a layup with under 10 seconds remaining, leading to Skyliners’ Leon Fertig hitting the final shot that sent Miami home with a 19-17 loss.
On their unbeaten route to the final, Miami took down Kanazawa (JPN), Carolina (PUR), Toulouse (FRA) and Amsterdam (NED). Starting with Kanazawa, Miami took a 21-11 victory, their largest point differential of the competition. Miami never trailed in the contest despite a close game early on. Leading 9-7 after a Kanazawa bucket, Dylan Travis got fouled on a 2-point shot and sparked a 5-0 run. Miami didn’t look back from there and cruised to the win behind Caruso’s seven points and eight rebounds.
To finish pool play, undefeated Team Miami finished Carolina off with a late 2-pointer from Caruso. After trailing 8-4 early on, Miami got back into control and led 19-14 with one minute remaining. Carolina made one final effort, scoring five straight to tie the game up before Caruso’s final shot secured the Miami win and their place atop Pool B.
Toulouse awaited Miami in the quarterfinals to start tournament play. Miami led by three early, then the teams grappled for the lead as they traded shots for much of the game. With Toulouse leading 14-12 and just two minutes remaining, Hahn and Travis scored all seven points during Miami’s 7-1 closing run. Time expired with Miami out front 19-15, moving them to the semifinals.
In the semifinals, Team Miami defeated Amsterdam 21-19. This game was tight from start to finish, and Hahn’s shooting was a big factor as he scored nine points on 3-for-5 shooting from deep. The teams traded small leads for much of the game, which led to a 19-17 Miami lead late; the win capped off by a tough mid-range jumper from Hahn to move on.
