MACAU, China (Oct. 19, 2025) – Team Miami fell just one point shy of the title at the FIBA 3x3 Macau Masters Sunday, coming up short in the championship tilt against Lugano (SUI) after going 3-1 through the tournament. Miami took down top seeded Ub (SRB) en route to the title game.
In the final, Henry Caruso, who finished with a game-high 11 points, was firing on all cylinders in an MVP-like performance to put Miami up 20-17 with 2:30 left to play. From there, Lugano’s lockdown defense allowed them four unanswered buckets to give them the come-from-behind title.
Miami had gotten a taste of this Lugano team a day earlier in the round of pool play, when the Swiss forced overtime and snuck by with a 18-16 win over a Caruso and Andrew Kelly-led Miami squad. The pair combined for 10 points and 16 boards in the narrow loss that came down to a 2-point Lugano dagger to end the OT period.
A sharp opener against Diadema (BRA) saw Miami take off after an early 4-3 deficit in the opening minute, racing to a decisive 21-7 handling. Mitch Hahn led the USA-based No. 2 overall seed with 10 points, draining 3-of-5 from 2-point range.
The event’s top seed, Ub, awaited Miami in the final four. The two made back-and-forth punches throughout the first five minutes, tangled at 11-all halfway through. Ultimately, it was the eight points apiece from Caruso and Travis that lifted Miami past their familiar foe — two quick, consecutive, 2-pointers earned Team Miami the 22-16 win.
With just a few stops remaining on the 2025 edition of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour, Miami will be back in action next weekend for the Abu Dhabi Masters. Miami has collected three titles on the circuit this year, including two Masters wins and one Challenger championship.
