COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (Sept. 28, 2025) – Team Miami secured a second FIBA 3x3 World Tour title this season on Sunday. The quartet won four consecutive games to take home first place in Shanghai.
Coming off back-to-back second-place finishes in Lausanne and Sansar, Team Miami entered Shanghai with hopes be the last team standing since their first World Tour victory in Utsunomiya.
The weekend began with an opening defeat to Lugano (Switzerland). Team Miami got off to a quick start, going up 7-2 but Lugano fought back, eventually tying the game at 12 with 3:40 remaining. From there, Lugano was consistent down the stretch and won 19-16. Mitch Hahn led with six points.
Team Miami got back on track with a 22-18 victory over Raudondvaris (Lithuania). This time, Team Miami fought back from an early deficit. They trailed 7-1 with 7:02 left and Raudondvaris looked to knock out Miami. The lead grew to a 17-10 advantage with 3:18 left. Miami rallied, a massive 12-1 run ended the game and kept their hopes alive. Dylan Travis took over down the stretch, ending the matchup with six straight points. He led the group with 11 points, shooting an efficient 5-of-7 from 2-point range.
By virtue of their win over Raudondvaris, Team Miami qualified for the knockout stages.
Matched up against Amsterdam (Netherlands), Team Miami took a 10-6 advantage on a shot from Andrew Kelly with 5:35 left. Amsterdam clawed back to take a 13-12 lead but Henry Caruso hit the biggest shot of the game, a 2-pointer to break a 15-15 tie with 1:47 left. Caruso closed the game out with two more points as Miami won 19-17. He had a game-high nine points.
Team Miami faced a tough task in the semifinals against Chongming (China). In what would prove to be their closest game of the tournament, Miami won a 21-19 nailbiter. Chongming took a 9-5 advantage early as Team Miami struggled fouls. Hahn showed up in a big way, his 2-pointer tied the affair 11-11 with 5:33 on the clock. He then came through down the stretch, hitting another shot to hold a late 19-17 lead with 1:48 left. Chongming responded with two free throws to tie the game before Hahn moved the Americans to the final with a game-winning 2-pointer.
Team Miami took on another Chinese team, Hangzhou, in the Final. Miami led early, 8-4 with 5:44 left before Hangzhou showed some offensive prowess. They cut into the lead 14-13 on a shot with 1:09 left. Travis, as he is known to do, came up big with back-to-back 2-pointers to bring Team Miami a second title on the circuit. He recorded a game-high eight points in the Final. The buzzer sounded with Team Miami prevailing, 20-13.
For his efforts through five games, Caruso was named the MVP.
