The USA Basketball Women’s U17 National Team won the 2024 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup with an 84-64 victory over Canada on Sunday in León, Mexico.
The Americans have now won six FIBA U17 World Cup gold medals, including three consecutive titles. The United States is now 50-1 all-time in U17 Women’s World Cup competition.

TEAM NOTES
Golden: The USA finished 7-0, averaging 100.4 ppg through seven games and winning each by an average of 48 points. The team’s average points are the most all-time by a U.S. team at the event.
Rebounding Wins: The Americans made a habit of outrebounding their opponents in the event and continued into the final game. The U.S. outrebounded Canada 58-41 and averaged 62.4 per game, marking the highest average by an American team ever at the event.
When It Matters Most: The Americans took an 8-point lead into the fourth quarter and spurted off a 12-0 run, capped by a pair of free throws from Jerzy Robinson, to build a 71-51 advantage with 5:58 remaining. The Americans held Canada to 4-of-16 from the field and forced 3 turnovers. Canada did not find the basket until the 5:02 mark of the fourth quarter.
PLAYER NOTES
MVP Honors: Robinson took home the MVP and All-Star Five honors after logging 25 points (7-23 FG, 8-9 FT), 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Holding averages of 20.9 ppg, 6.9 rpg and 1.3 apg, Robinson scored 146 points over seven games, setting a new USA record for the most points in a FIBA U17 World Cup competition. Her 20.9 points per game are the most an American has averaged at the tournament.
Robinson joins JuJu Wakins (2021, 2022) as the only U.S. players to be named MVP in both the U16 AmeriCup and FIBA U17 World Cup.
All-Star 5: McKenna Woliczko, recognized as part of the All-Star Five alongside Robinson, was a first-half force for the USA. She paced the Americans with 11 points (5-9 FG, 1-1 FT), 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. Woliczko totaled 19 points (9-14 FG, 1-1 FT), 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block. In seven starts, she averaged 12.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
Jordyn Rules: Jordyn Palmer once again came up big for the USA, coming away with 9 points (4-7 FG), 12 rebounds and 3 steals. In her first go with USA Basketball, she owned averages of 10.4 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.7 apg and 2.6 spg. Palmer shot 60.4% (29-48 FG) from the field, the second-highest across all players in the tournament.
