The USA Basketball Women’s U17 National Team advanced to the 2024 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup semifinals with a 95-59 victory over Japan at Domo De La Feria in León, Mexico.
The USA will face France in the semifinals tomorrow, July 20, after France defeated Italy 83-51 earlier today. The Americans hold a 5-0 record against France in U17 World Cup competition.

TEAM NOTES
Block Party: The Americans had 8 blocks against Japan. Eight blocks is the most the USA has recorded in a game this tournament. Three players had 2+ blocks: Jordyn Palmer (3), Jacy Abii (2) and McKenna Woliczko (2).
Leading In Leon: The Americans saw their second wire-to-wire win of the tournament against Japan. The USA has trailed for a cumulative 8:24 over five games.

Robinson finished with 29 points (12-19 FG, 3-6 3FG, 2-3 FT), tying Diamond DeShields (2012) for the second most points ever from a U.S. player in a U17 World Cup game. Twenty-nine points is the highest point total for any player in the competition thus far.
Ten Times Two: Woliczko registered her first double-double of the tournament, scoring 16 points (7-11 FG, 2-4 FT) and recording 17 rebounds (6 OR). She added 2 blocks and 1 steal. Woliczko’s 17 rebounds tie Aquira DeCosta (vs. South Korea, 6/22/16) for the most rebounds by an American in U17 World Cup history.
Adding Them Up: Addison Bjorn neared a triple-double in her 21 minutes off the bench, scoring 10 points (5-10 FG), grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 7 assists.
Enter Jacy: Abii entered the starting lineup for the first time and filled up the stat sheet. She contributed with 7 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks.
