COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (September 25, 2023) – USA Basketball announced today 85 athletes will participate in a USA Basketball Junior National Team minicamp from Oct. 6-8 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
Minicamp participants will represent the high school graduating classes of 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027. Players and coaches were selected by the USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team Committee. In addition to on-court drills and scrimmages, athletes will participate in a series of educational programs presented by USA Basketball, the NCAA and the NBA Player Development Program focused on NCAA eligibility and life skills.
“USA Basketball is excited about the elite group of players attending the junior national team minicamp,” said Sean Ford, committee chair and USA Basketball’s Men’s National Team director. “It’s a pleasure to welcome back several gold medalists and athletes from junior national teams programming over the last three summers, as well as introduce a group of young, talented players into the program”.
The class of 2024 attendees include Airious ‘Ace’ Bailey, Jalil Bethea, Annor Boateng, David Castillo, Zoom Diallo, Isaiah Evans, Johnuel ‘Boogie' Fland, Dylan Harper, Ian Jackson, Morez Johnson Jr., Richard ‘Tre’ Johnson, Nasir ‘Sir’ Mohammed, Patrick Ngongba II, Ahmad Nowell, Tahaad Pettiford, Jamari Phillips, Drake Powell, Jayden Quaintance, Khani Rooths and Cameron Scott.
The class of 2025 will be represented by Darius Acuff, Darius Adams, Kiyan Anthony, Mikel Brown Jr., Nikola Bundalo, Brayden Burries, Chris Cenac Jr., Jerry Easter II, Jeremiah Fears, Akai Fleming, Kingston Flemings, Jeremiah Green, Hudson Greer, Jalen Haralson, Isiah Harwell, Shelton Henderson, Bryce James, Jasper Johnson, Jamier Jones, Jackson Keith, Nyk Lewis, Alex Lloyd, JJ Mandaquit, Jack McCaffery, Trey McKenney, Kayden Mingo, Chris Nwuli, Jermaine O'Neal Jr., Koa Peat, Jalen Reece, Aaron Rowe, Xavion Staton, Meleek Thomas, Bryson Tiller, Jaden Toombs, Nigel Walls, Sebastian Williams-Adams and Caleb Wilson.
For the class of 2026, Latrell Allmond, JaShawn ‘JJ’ Andrews, Alijah Arenas, Tajh Ariza, Alex Constanza, Jason Crowe Jr., AJ Dybantsa, Anthony Felesi, Sam Funches, Cameron Holmes, Caleb Holt, Brandon McCoy, Dylan Mingo, Jalen Montonati, Chidi Nwigwe, Adam Oumiddoch, Trent Perry, Steven Reynolds III, Deron Rippey Jr., Jordan Smith Jr., Seven Spurlock, Tyran Stokes, Quincy Wadley and Elijah Williams will be in attendance.
The class of 2027 features Lincoln Cosby, Babatunde Oladotun and Darius Wabbington.
The group features 56 players with USA Basketball experience, either from a previous competition or training camp, while 29 will participate in their first USA Basketball training camp.
Tre Johnson, Harper and Jackson represented the U.S. at the 2023 FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup. Dybantsa, Harwell, Holt, Mandaquit, McCoy, Montonati, Peat, Quaintance and Stokes led the USA to an eighth-straight gold medal at the 2023 FIBA Men’s U16 Americas Championship.
Castillo, Fland, Jackson and Peat were with USA Basketball at the 2022 FIBA U17 Men’s World Cup, winning gold. Additionally, Castillo and Jackson helped the U.S. capture its seventh consecutive FIBA U16 Americas Championship gold medal in 2021.
The minicamp coaches include Dominic Amorosa, Frank Bennett, Rob Brost, Steve Dagostino, Scott Fitch, Tony Irons, Jamill Jones, Mike Jones, Nick LoGalbo, Chet Mason, Don Showalter, Almamy Thiero, Ras Vanderloo, Charlie Ward and Sharman White. The coaches have earned 26 gold medals collectively since 2009.
