The USA improved to 2-0 at the 2023 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup with a decisive 100-46 win over Germany on Sunday at Jorge Garbajosa Arena in Madrid, Spain. The U.S. is the only team in the competition thus far to score at least 100 points in a game.
The Americans have a rest day on Monday, July 17, before concluding Group B play on Tuesday, July 18, against Chinese Taipei.

TEAM NOTES
1-800-USA-WINS: Prior to today, the USA and the Germans have only faced once in FIBA U19 Women's World Cup competition. That game occurred in 2019 with the U.S. claiming victory, 79-61. Paige Bueckers led the U.S. that day (July 24, 2019) with 13 points and five rebounds.
Set It And Forget It: The USA trotted out the same starters from a day earlier - Talana Lepolo, Kiki Rice, Cotie McMahon, Chloe Kitts and Grace VanSlooten. The starters held Germany scoreless for the first 2:55 of the first quarter and 3:29 of the third, allowing the USA to lead the game wire-to-wire.

PLAYER NOTES
We'll Double The Offer: Recording the first double-double of the FIBA U19 Women's World Cup for the Americans was Kitts. Her defensive rebound with 1:23 remaining in the third quarter marked the milestone achievement. She finished the game with 18 points and 13 rebounds in 20 minutes.
Operators Standing By: After recording 17 assists against Mali, the USA totaled 21 versus Germany. Operating the offense and setting up her teammates with a team-high in dimes was Lepolo (six assists).
But Wait, There's More: The U.S. had top-tier performances up and down the roster. Joyce Edwards scored a game-high 21 points (7-13 FG), Londynn Jones hit three 3-pointers (3-6 3FG) en route to 12 points, VanSlooten chipped in 12 points and McMahon added 10.
