The U.S. advanced to the Women's U16 Americas Championship semifinals after a 106-34 victory over Dominican Republic on Saturday at Poliforum Zamná in Mérida, Mexico. The victory ensures a top-four finish and punches the USA’s ticket to the 2024 FIBA Women’s U17 World Cup in Mexico.
The USA is set to take on Argentina, who defeated Colombia (55-54) in a down-to-the-wire quarterfinal, in semifinals tomorrow. The other side of the bracket pairs Puerto Rico against the winner of Canada vs. Mexico.

TEAM NOTES
Cleaning the Glass: The Americans won the rebound battle against the Dominican Republic, 62-36. The USA has excelled at converting second-chance opportunities, outscoring their opponents 137-9 during the competition.
Keep the Streak Alive: The U.S. had another wire-to-wire win tonight. The team has not trailed in any game this tournament.
Second Half Team: The U.S. controlled the second half and outscored the Dominican Republic, 55-13. The USA has only allowed 48 second-half points through four games.

All Aaliyah: Aaliyah Crump had a game-high 16 points (7-10 FG, 2-4 3FG). She also finished with four rebounds and two steals. Crump has been the team's best three-point shooter statistically and has shot 50% (6-12 3FG) from beyond the arc through four games.
Swain's Still Got It: Hailee Swain finished with 12 points (5-14 FG), two rebounds, three assists and three steals. She joins Robinson as the only players for the U.S. to have scored 10-plus points in each game.
