COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – USA Basketball announced today 61 athletes will participate in a USA Basketball Junior National Team minicamp from March 31-April 2 in conjunction with the 2023 NCAA Men’s Final Four. The minicamp includes participating in the NCAA Next Generation on Sunday, April 2.
Minicamp participants will represent the high school graduating classes of 2024, 2025 and 2026. Players and coaches were selected by the USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team Committee. In addition to on-court drills and scrimmages, the Junior National Team members will participate in a series of educational programs presented by USA Basketball and the NCAA focused on NCAA eligibility and education as well as life skills development.
“USA Basketball cherishes opportunities like these at the men’s junior national team minicamps to work with elite high school players to assist the advancement of their basketball journey,” said Sean Ford, committee chair and USA Basketball’s Men’s National Team director. “It’s awesome to have so many returning gold medalists and previous camp participants.”
On Sunday, April 2, athletes will take part in multiple intrasquad scrimmages including one at NRG Stadium, site of the 2023 NCAA Men’s Final Four. Minicamp participants will also attend Saturday night’s semifinal games.
The class of 2024 attendees include Annor Boateng, Carter Bryant, David Castillo, Kanon Catchings, Zoom Diallo, Johnuel “Boogie” Fland, Dylan Harper, Ian Jackson, Richard “Tre” Johnson, Ryan “RJ” Jones, Karter Knox, Tahaad Pettiford, Jamari Phillips, Cameron Scott and Robert Wright III.
The class of 2025 will be represented Mikel Brown Jr., Jerry Easter II, Jeremiah Fears, Jeremiah Green, Jalen Haralson, Isiah Harwell, Jasper Johnson, Nyk Lewis, Calvin Murphy III, Chris Nwuli, Koa Peat, Darryn Peterson, Jayden Quaintance, TJ Stuttley, Meleek Thomas, Bryson Tiller, Jaden Toombs, Nigel Walls, Sebastian Williams-Adams and Caleb Wilson.
For the class of 2026, Latrell Allmond, JaShawn “JJ” Andrews, Alijah Arenas, Tajh Ariza, TreVaun Clark, Alex Constanza, Jason Crowe Jr., AJ Dybantsa, Sam Funches, Caleb Gaskins, Emmanuel Green, Cam Holmes, Caleb Holt, Jayden Johnson, Brandon McCoy, Dylan Mingo, Jalen Montonati, Chidi Nwigwe, Adam Oumiddoch, Trent Perry, Jaxon Richardson, Deron Rippey Jr., Stephen Spurlock, Quincy Wadley, Jamison White and Elijah Williams will be in attendance.
The group features a plethora of players with USA Basketball experience. Castillo, Fland, Jackson, Knox and Peat represented USA Basketball at the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup, where the U.S. won its sixth consecutive gold medal.
Additionally, Castillo, Jackson and Jones helped the U.S. capture its seventh consecutive FIBA Americas U16 Championship gold medal in 2021. In total, 33 players will return to USA Basketball this April with past competition or training camp experiences, while 28 will participate in their first event.
Minicamp coaches include Dominic Amorosa, Rob Brost, Scott Fitch, Tony Irons, Mike Jones, Chet Mason, Al Thiero, Ras Vanderloo, Charlie Ward and Sharman White.
