SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador (Nov. 1, 2026) – The 2026 USA 3x3 Men’s Team secured their third straight, and fifth overall, FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup gold medal at the 2026 FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup final in San Salvador, El Salvador, while the U.S women claimed their second ever FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup silver medal.
The squad of Riley Battin, Henry Caruso, Jimmer Fredette and Mitch Hahn went undefeated (5-0) throughout the tournament. Fredette, who won his second FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup gold medal, earned tournament MVP honors as he averaged 8.2 points per game, including a 13-point explosion in the final. Caruso and Hahn completed the three-peat as they were a part of all three gold medal runs (2024, 2025, 2026). This was Battin’s first FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup gold.
The 2026 USA 3x3 Women’s Team of Aziaha James, Flau’jae Johnson, Aerial Powers and Sydney Taylor claimed silver. The Americans put up a valiant effort against the top-ranked Canadians, but fell short 21-12 in the final. Taylor was named to the all-tournament team after a standout FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup debut, averaging 6.8 points per game.
For the men, the United States came out firing in the final, building a 9-3 lead as Hahn, Fredette and Battin all nailed 2-point shots. Canada cut into the lead, coming within four points, but the veteran Fredette took over.
He scored the USA’s final seven points, starting off by converting a three-point play as he was able to cash in a 2-pointer from the top of the key. Fredette then hit his fourth and fifth 2-pointers of the game, his last being the game winner that banked off the window to lift the U.S. to gold.
On the women's side, James got the U.S. off on a hot start in the final, scoring three straight points to give the USA an early 3-1 lead. Canada responded with a 4-1 run of their own, before continuing to build their lead to 10-5. The Americans continued to battle, with Johnson and Powers getting into the paint, but Canada’s size proved to be too much in the end. Powers finished with five points and Johnson added four.
The USA men's and women's were each perfect in their pool play games on Saturday to reach the knockout rounds - and eventual gold medal games - today.
