MACAU (Oct. 18, 2026) – Team Miami finished third at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Macau, going 3-1 through two days of competition. Miami reached the tournament semifinal round at a second consecutive event, having placed third at the circuit’s Bucharest stop a week prior.
Team Miami were represented by Riley Battin, Henry Caruso, Jimmer Fredette and James Parrott.
At the 5:29 mark of the semifinals vs. Shanghai (CHN), Battin sank in a corner 2-pointer to knot the game at 10-all, as the two teams traded buckets in the first half of play. Battin scored 12 of Miami’s 18 points in the eventual 21-18 loss. Down to three players, as James Parrott did not compete, Team Miami kept pace with Shanghai’s evenly distributed scoring, before a couple go-ahead buckets gave Shanghai the 17-14 lead with 3:34 remaining. A Fredette take, followed by three straight buckets courtesy of Battin kept Miami fighting Shanghai’s suffocating defense, but the opponent’s 2-pointer dagger ended the contest with 1:45 left on the clock.
Prior to Sunday morning’s knockout, Team Miami rode a 3-0 record through the tournament.
On Friday, the quartet kicked off pool play with a 22-14 win over DeQing (CHN), followed by a 21-16 victory over Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL). In both, Team Miami built out advantages in the second halves of play. Henry Caruso led with eight points and shot a perfect 3-for-3 from 2-point range in the first matchup, while Fredette scored eight points in the second contest, including a timely 2-point shot with just under four minutes to play to help Miami break ahead of their challenger.
In the event’s quarterfinal round, Team Miami came out energized and dominated Cotai (MAC) to the beat of a 21-11 win in just under seven minutes of action. After Fredette converted a bucket to give Miami a 4-3 lead nearly 90 seconds into the action, Team Miami never trailed again. Battin scored nine points, while Caruso and Fredette each added six, as Miami shot 10-of-13 on its 1-point field goal attempts and outrebounded Cotai 8-3 as a team.
Battin and Caruso were top scorers at the event, averaging 8.3 and 5.8 points per game, respectively. Ahead, Team Miami will prepare for the final Challenger event of the 2026 circuit, the Belo Horizonte Challenger, held from Nov. 7-8 in Brazil.
