BUCHAREST, Romania (Oct. 11, 2026) – Team Miami started 3-0 at the 2026 FIBA 3x3 World Tour Bucharest before falling to eventual champion Amsterdam (NED) 18-21 in the semifinals on Sunday in Bucharest.
The squad consisted of Riley Battin, Henry Caruso, Mitch Hahn and Jackson Trapp.
Miami’s semifinal appearance was their sixth of the year. Coming into the matchup with Amsterdam, the teams had met four times on this year's 3x3 Pro Circuit with Miami holding the 3-1 advantage.
It was a tight contest the entire way, with neither side gaining a clear edge. After finding success from 2-point range throughout the entire tournament, Miami was unable to continue that run in the semifinal. Yet Battin went to work in the paint, leading Miami with seven points.
Up 18-17, Miami tried to grind out the win, but Amsterdam went on a 4-0 run to end Miami’s title hopes. Caruso finished with five points as Hahn and Trapp each added three.
A quarterfinal matchup with Antwerp (BEL) went down to the wire, but a Caruso 2-point game-winner in the dying seconds lifted Miami to a 21-20 win. Caruso finished with eight points, all 2-pointers.
Points were hard to come by for both teams to start out, but a 9-1 run that saw Miami hit three 2-pointers gave them a 13-6 lead. Miami looked like they were going to run away with the game, but Antwerp responded with a 6-0 run to take the lead 20-19 with under a minute remaining.
Needing a bucket before the game clock expired, Caruso stepped up to hit his final 2-pointer from the top of the key to crush Antwerp’s comeback hopes.
On Saturday, Miami went 2-0 in Pool B with wins over Cluj (ROU) and Deqing (CHN) to reach the quarterfinals.
Also in Bucharest, Team Phoenix went 0-2 in the qualifying draw despite two close matchups to Amsterdam and Lausanne (SUI).
Amsterdam defeated Fuengirola (ESP) 19-17 in the final.
Team Miami will compete in the 2026 FIBA 3x3 World Tour Macau held on Oct. 17-18.
