PHOENIX (Sept. 20, 2026) – Team Miami made it 2-for-2 on American soil in 2026 as the squad took home the top prize at the FIBA 3x3 Phoenix Challenger on Sunday. The quartet won the FIBA 3x3 Birmingham Challenger in Alabama earlier this circuit.
Jimmer Fredette sealed the win for Team Miami in his return 3x3 and was named MVP of the competition. He put up 27 total points in the tournament, including eight in the final. Riley Battin led the field in total points with 38 while James Parrott scored 24 and Henry Caruso dropped 17.
The squad met and defeated Amsterdam (NED) in the final.
Amsterdam lost to Bordeaux (FRA) in the group stage but rolled in three straight games to reach the title match. That momentum carried them to an early 5-4 lead before Miami rattled off five straight points to take a 9-5 lead. Amsterdam stormed back with a 4-0 run of their own to tie it at 9 before Miami put up four straight to make it 13-9.
In what seemed like an instant, Miami went from 9-9 to 18-11, and then Fredette capped off the win with a 2-pointer from distance to make it 22-16.
Team Miami cruised to victories over London (GBR), 21-12, and Bordeaux, 21-13, in the knockout stages. Battin led the London game with nine points, while Parrott led all scorers with eight against Bordeaux.
Miami won five straight games en route to the title. They started group play with wins over Princeton (USA) and Phoenix. A mid-game 5-0 run courtesy of Parrott and Battin saw Miami pull away from Princeton for a 21-14 win in game one. Phoenix gave Miami its toughest test as they had the game tied 18-18 before three Parrott buckets propelled them to a 21-19 victory.
Team Miami heads to the 2026 FIBA 3x3 World Tour Deqing next weekend in China.
