WUHAN, China (Sept. 19, 2026) – The USA 3x3 Women’s U23 National Team captured gold at the 2026 FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup in Wuhan, China, while the U.S. men advanced to the quarterfinals.
In the final, the Americans took down No. 18 Canada. The gold medal match was a defensive battle that ended 15-10 in favor of the U.S. An early two-point shot from Tori McKinney put the Americans up 4-1, but Canada answered back, holding a 9-7 lead after a made free throw. With the gold medal in the balance, the U.S. closed on a 6-1 surge. McKinney tallied a game-high six points and six rebounds.
In the semifinals, the U.S. defeated No. 3 Spain, 21-16. It was a back-and-forth affair, with the teams tied at 12 points with just over three minutes remaining. From there, each member of the quartet scored a key basket to lift the Americans to the final. McKinney notched seven points while Dani Carnegie scored six points.
Following a strong group stage, The U.S. women advanced to face No. 2 Netherlands in the quarterfinals. Led by Carnegie’s eight points, the U.S. won 21-17. The Americans got off to a quick 4-1 start, but the game eventually tightened up. The Netherlands pulled within one at 16-15 on a basket with 1:50 remaining. A free throw from McKinna Brackens and a shot from Carnegie put the U.S. ahead 18-15. Katie Fiso and Brackens added six points each.
The U.S. men’s run ended in the quarterfinals, falling 19-17 to Latvia. Mark Armstrong scored eight points in the loss.
