COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (Aug. 24, 2026) – USA Basketball announced today that CareFirst Arena in Washington, D.C., home to the WNBA Washington Mystics and NBA G League Capital City Go-Go, will host a FIBA Men’s World Cup Qualifying game between the U.S. and Colombia at 7 p.m. ET on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026. Tickets are now on sale at USAB.com/tickets with prices starting as low as $15 for general admission.

The contest in Washington, D.C., will be the second of a two-game window with USA Basketball first heading to Chile for a tilt on Thursday, Aug. 27. The USA Men will host a training camp in Miami prior to traveling to Chile.
As previously announced, from November 2025 to March 2027, six World Cup Qualifying windows will feature 420 total games, as 80 national teams compete for one of 32 berths to the 2027 FIBA Men’s World Cup in Doha, Qatar.
Following Window 3, which was competed in early July, nations were regrouped for Windows 4-6. The top three teams in Group A – of which USA were the winner - crossed over with the top teams in Group C to form Group E. Following Window 4, Window 5 sees the USA play a pair of road contests in Brazil on Nov. 27 and Colombia on Nov. 30. The U.S. will then host two games against Chile and Brazil for Window 6 in February 2027.
In the FIBA Americas zone, 16 teams, now cut down to 12, will play across six windows with seven advancing to the World Cup. For more information, click here.

Under the current format, which dates back to the 2019 FIBA Men’s World Cup, USA Basketball has compiled a 24-6 record (5-1, 2025-27) and has finished atop their respective group in both 2019 and 2023.
The USA are winners of two of the last four FIBA World Cups (2010, 2014).
