USA Basketball to Partner with U.S. Hunger for July 4 Day of Service in Honor of America’s 250th
MESA, Arizona (July 1, 2026) – The U.S. Open Basketball Championships, USA Basketball’s signature youth tournament, are set for July 3-5, 2026, at Arizona Athletic Grounds (AAG) in Mesa, Arizona. The premier, open-registration national youth tournament is dedicated to fostering competitive excellence and prioritizing player safety within the grassroots basketball community. The tournament will feature hundreds of athletes competing in 10th grade, 9th grade, 8th grade, 13U, 12U and wheelchair divisions across the three-day tournament.
USA Basketball, the USA Basketball Foundation and U.S. Hunger, with support from NBA Cares, will host a July 4 Day of Service to celebrate America's 250th and support America Gives, a nationwide America250 initiative designed to make 2026 the largest year of volunteerism in U.S. history. The Day of Service will see U.S. Open Championships teams, coaches and other volunteers pack 50,000 meals to be distributed in the greater Phoenix area.
These efforts support the NBA Family’s leaguewide efforts to support volunteer initiatives and content experiences that reflect the NBA’s longstanding commitment to civic engagement, service and volunteerism.
