WARSAW, Poland (June 4, 2026) – The USA Basketball 3x3 National Teams earned berths into the 2026 FIBA 3x3 World Cup quarterfinals after taking the top spot in their respective pools on Thursday in Poland. Both the men and women went 2-0 on the day to conclude pool play.
On June 2, the United States women secured a flawless 2-0 record to open Pool B, defeating Hungary,18-15, and Australia, 21-18. They kept the momentum going on tonight, starting with a 20-17 victory over 10th-ranked Mongolia.
The Americans led wire-to-wire via a 5-0 start. Joyce Edwards led the U.S. with seven points and eight rebounds, including five on the offensive glass. MiLaysia Fulwiley and Sahara Williams also contributed six points apiece, while Mikaylah Williams chipped in with four rebounds.
Later, the women returned to take on second-ranked Spain. Holding a tight 19-18 lead in the closing moments, the United States sealed an unblemished 4-0 pool play record when Mikaylah Williams buried a 2-pointer from the left wing. She tallied 11 points in the big win.
“We had a good, solid four wins,” Mikaylah Williams said. “I had a game winner today. I’m grateful for my teammates for finding me; they believed in me. My shot hasn’t been falling all tournament but it fell this game.”
After a 1-1 record in Pool B on Tuesday, the U.S. men went down to the wire with No. 10 Mongolia to open the day.
Henry Caruso added five points and sank the winner to end the affair, 22-19. James Parrott led the Americans with a game-high nine points and added three rebounds. Mitch Hahn and Dylan Travis each recorded four points. The U.S. had seven offensive rebounds in the matchup, limiting Mongolia to just one of their own.
Next, the men took on host nation Poland in front of electric atmosphere. After a slow start, the Americans pulled away for a 21-14 victory. Caruso had his strongest performance of the event thus far, totaling a game-high 11 points to go alongside six rebounds. He made all five of his one-point attempts and splashed three two-pointers in the matchup. Travis also recorded six rebounds in the victory.
Following a strong showing in pool play, the USA now turns its attention to the knockout rounds.
By finishing atop their respective pools, both U.S. squads earned direct berths to the quarterfinals.
The women enter Saturday's knockout stage with a matchup against face the winner of the France vs. Czechia play-in game at 1:25 p.m. ET. Also on Saturday, the men will take on the play-in winner of France vs. Madagascar at 2:25 p.m. ET.
