The USA (2-0) vs. Mexico (0-2) moved to 2-0 in Group A with a 107-50 win over Mexico in front of a rowdy home country crowd at the 2026 FIBA U18 Men’s AmeriCup in León, Mexico. With the win, the U.S. are now 6-0 vs. Mexico in U18 play. After a day off Wednesday, the tournament resumes with the final group games that will see the U.S. face Brazil (1-1).

POSTGAME NOTES
Eagle: The red, white and blue wasted no time getting in sync on offense and building an early – and insurmountable – lead. Mexico was as close as two points, 12-10 USA, midway through the first quarter before the U.S. went on a 10-0 run. The win was once again wire-to-wire and the Americans have won their first two Group A games by an average of 43.5 points.
Tree: For the second straight game, the U.S. owned the glass. The stars and stripes had a 27-rebound advantage Monday vs. Argentina and, tonight, outrebounded Mexico by 30, 59-29. Bruce Branch III led the USA on the glass with 11 boards, while Ethan Taylor and Quentin Coleman chipped in 10 boards apiece. Through two games, the U.S. lead the field with 120 total rebounds.
Mountain: The USA’s shooting stats were improved from the win Monday. Connecting on a clip of 52.6% (40-76 FG) from the field, the squad hit 13-of-36 of their attempts from deep (36.1%). The U.S. also shared the ball effectively, dishing assists on 67.5% (27 on 40 FG) of their makes tonight. Conversely, Mexico was held to just 27.7% (18-65 FG) from the field and made just 2-of-29 from 3-point while being held under 15 points in three out of four quarters.
Warrior I: Caleb Gaskins came out on fire from the floor to record 9 points in the first quarter, hitting both of his 2-point and lone 3-point attempts along with a free throw. He scored 7 of the USA’s 9 points of the game. He recorded 13 points (5-6 FG, 2-3 3FG, 1-2 FT), 3 rebounds and 1 block.
Warrior II: Coleman continued to impact the game on both ends of the floor and once again recorded double-digit boards for the U.S. After recording 11 points and 15 rebounds Monday, he added 7 points and 10 rebounds, along with 5 assists, tonight in his first start of the competition. With an average of 12.5 rebounds per game, Coleman leads all players in the tournament.
Warrior(s) III: Gaskins, Adan Diggs (12), Taylen Kinney (12), Colben Landrew (11), Branch III (10) and Davion Thompson (10) were each in double-figures tonight, marking the second consecutive game the U.S. has seen at least five players with at least 10 points. Four players also knocked down multiple 3-pointers in the contest, with Kinney leading the way with three makes from downtown.
