COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (April 13, 2026) – USA Basketball announced seven locations for USA Basketball Open Court, presented by Nike.
The youth development program will head to La Habra, California this spring, along with fall programs in Brooklyn, New York; Chicago; Dallas; Mesa, Arizona; Milford, Pennsylvania; and the San Francisco Bay Area. One more fall site will be selected at a later date.
The goal of USA Basketball Open Court, which operates eight sessions in each city, is to connect children ages 6-17 to the game of basketball by offering the opportunity to play for free in a fun, safe and developmentally appropriate environment.
Children engage in the sport through 3x3 play and skill instruction while earning USA Basketball and Nike prizes. All programs are operated by USA Basketball licensed coaches.

The USA Basketball Open Court program supports USA Basketball's 3X Play initiative by utilizing 3x3 basketball to help children develop skills like teamwork and decision-making while getting more touches of the basketball and opportunities to shoot, pass and defend.
Under the 3X Play initiative, a nationwide campaign launched earlier this month to promote FIBA 3x3 at the grassroots level, USA Basketball has created "how to" guides for operating various 3x3 competition formats. From tournaments, leagues, skill development camps and free-play events, USA Basketball 3x3 competition guides offer step-by-step templates with suggested procedures and resources needed to organize 3x3 competitions in your community.
