COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado and OCEANSIDE, California (11/6/25) - USA Basketball announced today that Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, California, home to the NBA G League San Diego Clippers, will host a pair of USA FIBA Men’s World Cup Qualifying games against Dominican Republic and Mexico on Feb. 26 and March 1, 2026, respectively. “USA Basketball is looking forward to playing two World Cup Qualifying home games in an arena known for its fan experience,” said Jim Tooley, USA Basketball CEO. “This is a great opportunity for USA Basketball to return to this basketball-rich region on the path to the 2027 FIBA Men’s World Cup.”
The games in Oceanside will be part of a two-game window with USA Basketball that sees the U.S. host Dominican Republic at 7 p.m. PT and Mexico at 4 p.m. PT. The USA Men, who are in Group A, will first host a training camp in Oceanside. USA Basketball begins 2027 FIBA World Cup Qualifying later this month with a pair of games vs. Nicaragua in Managua on Nov. 29 and in College Park, Georgia, on Dec. 1.

As previously announced, from November 2025 to March 2027, six World Cup Qualifying windows will feature 420 total games, as 80 national teams compete for one of 32 berths to the 2027 FIBA Men’s World Cup in Doha, Qatar.
Following Windows 1 and 2, Window 3 sees the USA play a pair of road contests in Dominican Republic on July 3 and Mexico on July 6, 2026. Nations will be regrouped for Windows 4-6.

Players selected to represent the USA in the FIBA World Cup Qualifying games are expected to primarily be from the NBA G League. More information about the USA roster, coaching staff and training camp will be announced at a later date.
Under the current format, which dates back to the 2019 FIBA Men’s World Cup, USA Basketball has compiled a 19-5 record and has finished atop their respective group in both 2019 and 2023.
The USA are winners of two of the last four FIBA World Cups (2010, 2014).
