The USA moved to 1-1 at the 2025 FIBA Men’s AmeriCup after falling 85-86 to Uruguay (1-1) Sunday night in Managua, Nicaragua.
The USA are now 5-1 all-time vs. Uruguay and 70-13 all-time at the AmeriCup.
Postgame Notes
Late Night Lights: For the second straight game, coach Stephen Silas called on Jerian Grant, Langston Galloway, Cam Reynolds, Tyler Cavanaugh and Robert Baker II to start the game.
Night Shift: Galloway led the USA in scoring on the night with a game-high 25 points. After notching nine points in the first half, he recorded another 16 after the break. He connected on five 3-pointers, was 4-of-4 from 2-point range and added two at the free throw line.
Off the bench, Jahmi’us Ramsey contributed 19 points (7-12 FG, 3-7 3FG, 2-3 FT) after scoring six points in the opening win over Bahamas on Saturday evening. Through two games, the USA bench is averaging 44.0 points per game.
Helping Hands: The U.S. shot 44.8% (30-67 FG, 13-35 3FG) on the night with an assist from coming on 24-of-30 made field goals. Grant led the team with seven helpers, while Zach Auguste added five and Javonte Smart four.
Late Night Cleanup Crew: Auguste, Cavanaugh and Jack Cooley led the team with seven rebounds apiece. Through two games, Cavanaugh is averaging 10.5 rebounds to lead the U.S.
