JAKARTA (July 27, 2025) – Team Miami’s run at the FIBA 3x3 Men’s World Tour Jakarta Challenger in Jakarta, Indonesia ended in the semifinals Sunday morning. Miami went perfect in pool play before winning their quarterfinal matchup on Sunday. The 3-0 start earned Team Miami third place at the Challenger, qualifying them for the Lausanne Masters in August.
In pool play, Team Miami opened with a balanced attack against the Jakarta Mandiri (IND). Trey Bardsley led the way with 8 points while Andrew Kelly and Mitch Hahn pitched in 5 points each. Miami led by as much as 9 points and cruised to a 21-14 victory.
In their second game against Lugano (SUI), Team Miami trailed by four, but embarked on a 7-0 run to take the lead. Miami continued to chip away, scoring with consistency and winning 21-16 with nearly three minutes remaining on the clock. James Parrott led the way, scoring 12 points, including 66% (4/6 2FG) shooting from deep and a monstrous dunk midway through the game.
In the quarterfinals, Miami matched up against Marijampole (LTU). The game looked to be firmly in Miami’s control early, as a 4-1 run quickly brought their lead to 7-4. Miami stacked on another 5-0 run to their lead, giving them a 12-6 advantage with under 5 minutes remaining.
Marijampole didn’t go away despite their deficit, instead flipping the game with a giant run of their own to take the lead at 15-13, but Miami remained composed, allowing just one more point the rest of the game. Parrott stepped up offensively to close out the game, scoring 5 of the remaining 6 points for Miami, which carried them to a 21-16 victory.
Miami started its semifinal bout with Hangzhou (CHN) strong, leading 5-2 just a minute in and carrying the lead in the early stages. Hangzhou tied the game at 7 apiece, after which Miami never saw the lead again. Miami trailed closely throughout most of the contest, yet Hangzhou’s consistent scoring and a late 5-2 run in the game outmatched Team Miami en route to the 21-16 semifinal loss. Parrott led Miami with 6 points.
