The USA women (3-0) won Group A at the 2025 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup with a 114-40 win vs. Israel (1-2) in Brno, Czechia.
The competition continues Wednesday with the Round of 16. By having won Group A, the U.S. will face China (Group B #4) with the winner moving to Friday’s quarterfinals. The complete Round of 16 slate, including gametimes, will be confirmed following the conclusion of today’s games.
Postgame Notes
Let Them Cook: Israel held a brief 3-2 lead about 90 seconds into the first game before the United States took control. By the midpoint of the period, the U.S. held a 20-8 lead and had forced 4 turnovers (all steals) and gave up 3-of-9 field goals. The score following the first favored USA 37-13 behind 16-of-20 shooting from the field with 4 3-pointers. Israel converted 4 attempts from the floor while committing 8 turnovers.
In a Blender: The U.S.’s defense continued to give the opposition fits. Israel’s Gal Raviv, who had averaged 32.5 points in two games, was held to just 9 points. Israel was also well under their 2-game average of 72.5 points, shooting 26.0% (13-50 FG) from the field and committing 30 turnovers (53 USA points off TO; 22 USA steals).

Yes, Chef: In her first start of the tournament, Saniyah Hall came out firing on all cylinders. At the end of the first quarter, she tallied 12 points (5-5 FG, 2-2 3FG), 3 rebounds and 3 steals in 8:39. Her final stat line included 20 points (7-10 FG, 2-3 3FG, 4-4 FT), 4 rebounds and 7 steals (1 shy of matching a USA U19 record) in 18:13.
Apple of My Eye: Jazzy Davidson matched Hall’s 14 first half points, surpassing her average of 11.0 points, while dishing out 6 assists. She was the game’s high scorer with 24 points (11-13 FG, 2-3 3FG) to go with 4 rebounds, a game-high 8 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks in 23:27.
For the second time this tournament (Sienna Betts 25, Hall 23; 7/12/25; vs. KOR), the USA had two players score 20+ points.
Icing on the Cake: The United States improved 103-13 overall in U19 competition and have won 24 consecutive games, dating back to the first Group Phase win (79-56 vs. AUS) at the 2019 edition. The competition’s overall win streak record is 25, set up by the USA (last 3 games in 2011, 9 wins in 2013, 7 wins in 2015, 6 wins in 2017).
The meeting between the United States and Israel was their first as this is Israel’s first U19 Women’s World Cup.
