KANSAS CITY, Kansas (June 29, 2025) – Following two straight days of pool play action, 12 teams pocketed championships during the knockout stage of the 2025 U.S. Open Basketball Championships Central tournament in Kansas City, Kansas.
More than 200 groups from throughout the nation competed under the USA Basketball umbrella during the 2025 edition of the U.S. Open, including 81 teams in the first installation of the Central tournament in Kansas City. The ensembles who secured a title, in addition to every group who made the journey to the Midwest, epitomized the basketball-crazed enthusiasm evident throughout Homefield Showcase Center from the first tip on Friday to the final whistle on Sunday.
Determined by results from three group stage contests, a total of 24 squads laced up in championship matches in both the Stars and Stripes brackets in the U.S. Open Central tournament’s finale.
Stars bracket champions include:
- 8th grade boys – Austin Select 2029 (TX) def. Kansas City Rebels (KS)
- 8th grade girls – Dream (AZ) def. Nebraska United 2030 (NE)
- 9th grade boys – Tru Colorado (CO) def. KC Run GMC (KS)
- 9th & 10th grade girls – Enid Lady Elite (OK) def. Kona Stringrays (HI)
- 10th grade boys – KC Run GMC (KS) def. SB Elite (TX)
- 12 & 13U boys – The Basketball Factory (MI) def. JBL Elite (LA)
- 12 & 13U girls – DS@6 (MO) def. Knights-Elite (MO)
Stripes bracket champions include:
- 8th grade boys – KC Spurs (Johnson) (KS) def. Wichita Warriors (KS)
- 8th grade girls – DCBA (IA) def. Enid Lady Elite (OK)
- 9th grade boys – Houston Hoops (TX) def. Arkansas Heat (AR)
