COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (May 15, 2025) – USA Basketball announced today 52 athletes expected to participate in the 2025 USA Basketball Women’s U16 National Team trials at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Trials run from May 21 with the final 12-member roster expected to be announced on May 26. The team will travel to Irapuato, Mexico, for the FIBA U16 Women’s AmeriCup from June 16-22.
Trials participants represent the high school graduating classes of 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2029. Athletes and coaches were selected by the USA Basketball Women’s Developmental National Team Committee.
“We are excited to bring a talented group of athletes to Colorado Springs to compete for roster spots on the 2025 Women’s U16 National Team,” said Briana Weiss, USA Basketball Women’s National Team director. “Trials mark a USA Basketball debut for many of these athletes, and we’re eager to see who makes the most of this opportunity.”
The class of 2026 will be represented by Olivia Jones. Class of 2027 attendees include Sabrina Anderson, Bisola Arowolo, Jazman Bailey, Caroline Bradley, Celsy Colombo, Harper Dunn, Khalia Hartwell, Eve Long, Ashley MacCalla, Madeline Mignery, Sydney Mobley, Emily Naraky, Micah Ojo, Finley Parker, Charis Rainey, Nation Williams, Sienna Williams and Ivanna Wilson Manyacka.
Class of 2028 athletes include Makynli Bacon, Love Best, Amel Cook, Kayla Eberz, JaKaila Gaskin, Reece Gilpatrick, Tatianna Griffin, Jhaliana Guy, Janiyah Hargrave, Zaire Hatter, Jordyn Haywood, Belle Hill, Maliya Hunter, Chloe Johnson, Jayla Lackey, Logan Miller, D’Arrah Mitchell, Amy Nduka, Ella Peper, Arianna Peterson, Talithakoum Poialii-Hunkin, Morghan Reckley, Nyajuacni Riak, Arianna Robinson, Jenelle Solis and Chloe Woodson.
For the class of 2029, Angelyn Almonte, Amoree Anderson, Geralynn Byers-Veal, Sophia Feeney, Carib Morris, Emily Tanny and Melody Vaughn will be in attendance.
The group features 24 athletes with past USA Basketball experience, all of whom recently participated in the 2025 USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team April minicamp in Tampa, Florida.
Additionally, Long, MacCalla and Nation Williams return to Colorado Springs after participating in the 2024 USA Women’s U17 National Team trials, while Wilson Manyacka represented the USA and won gold at the 2024 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup in Leon, Mexico.
As previously announced, coaches for the U16 team include Steve Gomez (Lubbock Christian University, TX), Brittanny Johnson (Evanston Township High School, IL) and Krystle Johnson (Hoover High School, AL).
Court coaches for trials will be Monique Boykins (Cheltenham High School, PA) and Nicole Collins (Cedar Hill High School, TX). Boykins, along with the bench coaches, was on staff for the 2025 Women’s Junior National Team April minicamp, while Collins previously has served as a court coach during the 2024 Women’s Junior National Team April minicamp.
The 2025 FIBA U16 Women’s AmeriCup features eight teams. Draw information for group play at the event has yet to be announced.
The USA has won the gold medal at the competition in seven of the eight editions, including the last four.
