BANGKOK (March 16, 2025) – After pocketing a pair of pool play victories against Thailand and France, the 2025 USA 3x3 Men’s Champions Cup Team secured fourth place at the 2025 FIBA 3x3 Champions Cup in Bangkok, Thailand.
A day removed from clinching the top spot in Pool B, 2025 USA 3x3 Men’s Champions Cup Team representatives Henry Caruso, Mitch Hahn, James Parrott and Dylan Travis laced up against the Netherlands, the Olympic Games Paris 2024 gold medalists, in the semifinal round.
Shortly after Hahn drove baseline to put the U.S. up 1-0, the Dutch responded with a 2-pointer from the top of the key. Over the ensuing 4:25 of action, the two squads combined for four ties and four lead changes.
With the bout knotted at eight apiece, the Netherlands rattled off three straight points to pull ahead 11-8. Parrott, Hahn and Travis continued to attack the tin to cut the deficit to one, 13-12, but the Dutch offense proved too powerful to overcome. The United States scored just three points in the final three minutes, and the Netherlands concluded the contest on an 8-3 scoring burst to secure a 21-15 win.
Hahn dropped a team-high seven points in the effort, followed by four points and five rebounds from Parrott and three tallies and four boards from Travis. While the Americans did shoot 10-20 from 1-point range, the red, white and blue connected on two of its 11 attempts from beyond the arc compared to a 4-of-8 clip from outside for the Netherlands.
Despite falling to the Dutch in the semis, the USA advanced to the third-place game against familiar foe Australia. Of all the games the Americans logged this weekend, the test against the Australians may have been the most back-and-forth affair of them all.
Like several games this weekend, the United States traded buckets with its opponent for the opening stretch. Australia, however, would morph a 5-4 edge into a 10-5 advantage courtesy of a pair of 2-pointers and a few interior scores.
Parrott, Caruso and Hahn battled back to cut the deficit to one, 11-10, before Australia kept its foot on the pedal. The Australians' length on both sides of the ball enabled them to reestablish a healthy 15-11 lead with 4:38 to play on the game clock.
The crew maintained a four-point advantage until the 2:36-minute mark, the point when Parrott converted on his first of four points over the next 1:36 of action. Fueled by the high-flyer, the USA orchestrated a 5-0 spurt to take its first lead since early in the contest.
Australia tied it at 19 and 20 before ultimately sealing the game from the free throw line. Missed opportunities at the rim plagued the USA, and the Australians took advantage for a 21-20 triumph with just a few seconds to spare. Parrott dropped nine points and six rebounds, Hahn pitched in with five and Caruso and Travis combined to score six.

Dissimilar to 5-on-5, 3x3 is played on a half-court with a 10-minute game clock and 12-second shot clock. Play is continuous, as teams “clear” the ball behind the 2-point line following a made basket, defensive rebound or steal. The first team to score 21 points via 1-point field goals or 2-pointers behind the arc is victorious; or if time expires then the team leading wins.
