The USA Basketball Women’s U17 National Team advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2024 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup following their 114-45 victory over Egypt on Wednesday in Irapuato, Mexico.
The Americans will move to Leon, Mexico, to face Japan in the quarterfinals on Friday, July 19. Japan defeated Mali to advance earlier today.

Consistently, Consistent: It was a strong start for Jerzy Robinson. Helping the U.S. to a 55-17 half time lead, Robinson scored 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting in the first half.
Robinson ended with 20 points (7-17 FG, 1-3 3FG, 5-10 FT) and 7 rebounds (3 ORB). 20 points marks her highest scoring output of the tournament and lands her in double figures for the fourth straight game.
Scoring Surge: Hailee Swain registered 20 points (8-15 FG, 2-3 3FG), 3 rebounds and 3 assists against Egypt. Swain has now surpassed 10+ points for the third time this tournament.
Robinson (20) and Swain (20) are the first pair of teammates to score 20+ in a game since Charli Collier and Olivia Nelson-Ododa (2016).
Shooters, Shoot: Lanie Grant knocked down 3+ 3-pointers for the third straight game, scoring 15 points on an efficient 66% (6-9 FG, 3-5 3FG). Grant dished out 3 assists and recorded 2 steals in her outing.
