Two U.S. Teams to Compete in Springfield, Massachusetts
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (April 21, 2024) – USA Basketball announced two teams set to represent USA Basketball at the 2024 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Springfield Stop April 23-24 at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The United States will be represented by two teams – USA and Springfield – at the opening event of the 2024 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series.
The USA roster features Cierra Burdick, Rhyne Howard, Lexie Hull and Hailey Van Lith, all of whom have 3x3 experience. Burdick, whose 3x3 experience dates back to 2014, won the 2023 FIBA 3x3 Women’s World Cup alongside Van Lith. Hull won 3x3 gold at the 2023 Pan American Games, while Howard makes her return to competitive 3x3 for the first time since winning silver at the 2019 USA Basketball 3X Nationals as a member of Drive.
The Springfield squad includes Cameron Brink, Allisha Gray, Dearica Hamby and Linnae Harper. Gray returns to the 3x3 hardwood for the first time since winning 3x3 gold at the 2020 Olympic Games. Brink and Harper, who played on the 2023 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series, were also members of the gold-medal-winning team at the 2023 FIBA 3x3 World Cup. Hamby made her 3x3 debut by winning gold at the 2023 FIBA 3x3 Women’s AmeriCup.
As previously announced, USA Basketball will host two FIBA 3x3 pro circuit competitions this week in Springfield beginning with a Quest (April 22-23), which is a FIBA 3x3 Men’s World Tour Qualifier, and followed by the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series (April 23-24). Both events will be held at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and admission is free with the purchase of a museum ticket.
The Women’s Series Stop will include eight teams in the field with the top finishers improving their allocation opportunities for future stops along the way to the 2024 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Final.
The Springfield Women’s Series will be streamed live at YouTube.com/FIBA3x3. For more information on the FIBA 3x3 Springfield Women’s Series 2024, including teams and rosters, click here.
The Quest will feature up to 12 teams with one team bid on the line into the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Edmonton Masters (July 6-7).
The 2024 USA 3x3 Men’s National Team – known on the FIBA 3x3 World Tour as Team Miami – will begin its season in Springfield before heading to Japan for the 2024 FIBA 3x3 World Tour Utsunomiya Opener April 27-28. Featuring Canyon Barry, Jimmer Fredette, Kareem Maddox and Dylan Travis, represented USA Basketball on the 2023 FIBA Men’s World Tour and became the first American team to win a World Tour event since 2019 (FIBA 3x3 Cebu Masters and FIBA 3x3 Abu Dhabi Masters).

Different than 5-on-5, 3x3 is played on a half-court with a 10-minute game clock and 12-second shot clock. Play is continuous, as teams “clear” the ball behind the 2-point line following a made basket, defensive rebound or steal. The first team to score 21 points via 1-point field goals or 2-pointers behind the arc is victorious; or if time expires then the team leading wins.
