COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (March 28, 2024) – The USA Basketball Women’s National Team announced today the 14-athlete roster for training camp set for April 3-5 at Cleveland Clinic Courts in Cleveland.
Five-time Olympic champion Diana Taurasi (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020) is one of nine Olympians who will participate in training camp, including Ariel Atkins (2020), Chelsea Gray (2020), Brittney Griner (2016, 2020), Jewell Loyd (2020), Kelsey Plum (2020, 3x3), Breanna Stewart (2016, 2020), A’ja Wilson (2020) and Jackie Young (2020, 3x3).
Eight of April’s participants were members of the gold-medal-winning 2022 USA Women’s World Cup Team, including Atkins, Shakira Austin, Gray, Sabrina Ionescu, Loyd, Plum, Stewart and Wilson.
Aliyah Boston and Rhyne Howard, both of whom have participated in previous USA Basketball Women’s National Team training camps, will be in attendance. Caitlin Clark will attend training camp, contingent on University of Iowa’s progression through the NCAA Tournament. Clark has earned three gold medals with USA Basketball junior national teams including most recently as a member of the 2021 USA Women’s U19 National Team.

2021-24 USA Basketball Women’s National Team head coach Cheryl Reeve (Minnesota Lynx) will lead the USA in training camp. She will be assisted by Kara Lawson (Duke University), Joni Taylor (Texas A&M University) and Mike Thibault (Washington Mystics). Lawson’s participation in April’s camp will be contingent on Duke’s progression through the NCAA Tournament leading up to the camp.
Last month, USA Basketball announced that Lawson, Taylor and Thibault will be the assistant coaches for the 2024 USA Women’s National Team.
Curt Miller (Los Angeles Sparks) and Tanisha Wright (Atlanta Dream) will serve as court coaches for training camp. Miller was an assistant coach for November’s college exhibition tour and February’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament, while Wright was a court coach in both November and February.
USA Basketball, in pursuit of its eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal, continues to evaluate the 2021-24 USA Women’s National Team player pool prior to naming a team for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
In February, the USA went 3-0 in the 2024 FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Antwerp, Belgium. The Americans beat hosts Belgium, 81-79, before dispatching of Nigeria (100-46) and Senegal (101-39).
In total, USA Basketball will be represented by four teams at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, including 5-on-5 men and women and 3x3 men and women. The Paris Games are set for July 26-Aug. 11, with the 3x3 basketball competition set for July 30-Aug. 5 at Place de la Concorde.
