USA 67, CUBA 81
The USA wrapped up the first window of 2025 FIBA Men’s AmeriCup Qualifying with an 81-67 defeat to Cuba in Havana. The Americans and Cubans split the window after the American’s won 100-79 against Cuba last Thursday in Kissimmee, Florida.

TEAM NOTES
Series History: Today’s matchup was the 34th all-time meeting between USA Basketball and Cuba. The USA is now 32-2 all-time against Cuba.
First Five: The American trotted four of the five same starters from the contest in Kissimmee in today’s contest with Jayce Johnson, Stanley Johnson, Elfrid Payton and Jahmi’us Ramsey. Completing the starting lineup for the USA was Raiquan Gray.
Points In The Paint: The USA scored 48 points in the paint today for a total of 100 in the two games. The U.S. outscored the Cubans in this statistical category in both games, 52-38 last Thursday and 48-36 today.
PLAYER NOTES
Gray Matter: The USA offense was paced by Gray in the first half. The former Florida State University standout scored 14 points, on 7-for-10 shooting, in a myriad of ways. He finished the game with 17 points and three rebounds in 25 minutes.
The Ramsey Stripe: Aggressively attacking the rim paid off for Ramsey today with him recording 8 points on free throws. Ramsey had game highs 8-of-10 on the freebies, three times as many attempts as the next American (Stanley Johnson with 3 FTA).
Johnson & Johnson: The Johnson duo for the U.S. had solid performances today. Jayce pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to go with 9 points. Stanley had a well-rounded game of 7 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
