COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (January 23, 2024) -- The USA Basketball Coach Academy, presented by Nike, returns in 2024 with six stops across the country. The program, which launched in 2015, provides basketball coaches the opportunity for professional development that is customized for all experience levels.
For the upcoming year, stops will be hosted in Atlanta, the San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Houston, Kansas City and New York.
The academy provides coaches with practical insight and education on how to teach the game to players of all ability levels. The professional development clinic sessions are implementable for coaches of all levels.
All stops feature the same format with a Saturday session ticket or a weekend pass, adding on a Sunday bonus day. The Saturday session consists of on- and off-court clinics and lunch. The Sunday bonus day features a more intimate learning experience where coaches take part in leadership lectures, film breakdown study, roundtable discussions and other special topics in a small-group format let by experts such as 10-time USA Basketball gold medalist head coach Don Showalter. All participants receive USA Basketball swag bags.
Registration for Saturday academies is $95. Coaches can also purchase a weekend pass, inclusive of the Saturday session and a Sunday bonus day, for $215. The weekend pass is limited to 45 individuals per academy on a first come, first served basis.
All attendees for the USA Basketball Coach Academy must be at least 18 years old.
The USA Basketball Coach Academies are led by guest speakers from all areas of the game. Attendees will hear from a wide range of coaches, including those who teach at the high school, collegiate, professional and international levels, as well as motivational speakers who focus on leadership training. The clinics provide a setting for networking and ongoing discussions between attendees and speakers.
