COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (Jan. 17, 2024) – The 2024 U.S. Open Basketball Championships for middle school divisions will be held June 7-9, 2024, in Bermuda Run and Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and registration is now open. The competition will have three divisions for boys and girls including 12 & under, 13 & under and 8th grade.
Registration is open to all teams on a first-come, first-served basis while division capacity permits. Now through March 8, teams can sign up with special early bird pricing of $295 per team. Standard tournament entry after March 9 is $400 per team. Teams can register using the link here.
The 12U and 13U divisions are age-based (Aug. 31 cut-off), while the 8th grade division is grade based. All divisions meet USA Basketball youth guidelines for player segmentation with age and grade verified to ensure safe, fair play. Coaches for all teams must hold a valid 2023-24 USA Basketball Coach License to be on the roster.
Competition tips off on Friday, June 7 and will be held at Rise Indoor Sports in Bermuda Run and the Chris Paul Academy in Winston-Salem. Registered teams are guaranteed four games against nationwide competition and receive perks from USA Basketball including a team gear package. The event will also feature skill challenges and a tournament social. The competition structure features pool play to bracket play games and the use of a 30-second shot clock for all divisions. Winning teams earn the right to hoist the U.S. Open Basketball Championships trophy.
Held since 2018, the U.S. Open Basketball Championships are a USA Basketball youth initiative intended to add opportunity, standards and quality to the youth basketball environment.
